A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University(AKTU) Admission Experience

When I was in class 12th there were many ideas and feelings hitting my mind. I was wondering what will happen after I clear my JEE MAINS examination, where will I get admission? will that college be better as I am thinking? Many other things actually excite me but I decided to first focus on my studies. I worked hard for one year honestly, and I cleared the JEE MAINS examination on my very first attempt.

After JEE MAINS Result :

I secured 91% percentile in my JEE MAINS examination, not very high as expected, but good enough according to my hard work. Now, it’s time to enroll my result and all documents for counseling. I got an overall AIR( All India Rank) of 93,145 in the general open category. I filled counseling form for AKTU (A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University) and filled out colleges according to rank. In the first round of counseling, I got an I.T. branch of REC bijnor, in my second round of counseling I got the college in which I am currently studying DR. Ambedkar Institute Of Technology For Handicapped, Kanpur. Don’t confuse it with its name only 15% of seats are reserved for handicapped students, rest normal students studying in this college.

Admission to college :

I got the I.T. branch of this college from the general category, as AKTU is a government-affiliated university, so 85% of seats are reserved for students, who are currently residing in Uttar Pradesh. 15% of seats are reserved for other state students. After I got this college , then after end of all rounds of counseling , I locked my seat and after few days , went for getting admission in this college . Again , many things were disturbing me that , will this college provide me a good environment ? will I able to continue my growth in this college , But all my doubts ended after I got admission , and started going in this college . This college is much more as I expected , the professors here are very supportive , seniors are also very supportive , and there is a very good co-ordination between juniors and seniors . There is a coding community present in my college where students , post their doubts , ask questions , help other students , There are many fests got organized in my college , there is coding contest , literary events , writing events and many more .

Now , I will say this college is good enough for average students . Getting admission into this college is one of my good decision .
