‘Rs 10 Crore Dining Table’ BharatPe Co-Founder Ashneer Grover Denies Claim

As per the media reports Co-founder and Former Managing Director of BharatPe, Ahsneer Grover adds on a lavish accessory, that is a dining table worth rupees 10 crores. But Grover denied the fact by saying that he did not do any investment on a hefty dining table and if he had an opportunity he would rather invest the money in some business or create jobs for the future generation. He also tweeted regarding the same and wrote,

“Is it a space rocket? Is it a time machine? No, it’s a 10cr dining table !! Haha! I don’t hold the Guinness World Record for the most expensive table ever. Nor do I intend to. Press – don’t fall for BharatPe Board (undisclosed sources) lies – you’ll lose your credibility like them.”

Although Ashneer denied the claim, as per Bloomberg’s report he informed some of the BharatPe employees regarding the purchase and also told them that he spent $130,000 (around Rs 99,42,400) on the dining table. Along with this, he also told them about his new car Porche, which he purchased recently. But later he clarified about the Porche also by tweeting, 

“I am proud @SuhailSameer14 that within 1 year of joining BharatPe you could buy a BMW Z4 Convertible sports car. I’ve made my employees’ dreams come true. Ironic that you believe you as employee can afford your dream and I as Founder can’t even afford a 2nd hand, Porsche. Touché !!

However, Ashneer Grover is a very well-known name in the business world and also one of the most popular sharks from the show Shark Tank. We also know him as the co-founder of BharatPe but had to recently resign from the post due to some controversies. He and his wife Madhuri were caught in an external audit which revealed their financial misdeeds. The duo is famous for their lavish lifestyle and this only caught them into trouble. In the investigation, it was also found that both of them mishandled the company funds and used a lot of money for their personal use.

The couple came under the radar when they upgraded their house to a rented penthouse. After the claims, his wife Madhuri also resigned from the company as she was sacked from her position but both of them denied all the facts against them. She was pressed with major charges and it said,

“engaged in extensive misappropriation of company funds, including, but not limited to, creating fake vendors through which they siphoned money away from the company’s expense account and grossly abused company expense accounts in order to enrich themselves and fund their lavish lifestyles”.

Moreover, it was also observed that they also own multiple luxurious cars which included, the Mercedes Benz GLS350, Mercedes Maybach S650 worth Rs. 2.5 crore, Audi A6, and Porsche Cayman. Once these multiple events came into the limelight the board BhartPe released a statement stating, 

“The Board will not allow the deplorable conduct of the Grover family to tarnish BharatPe’s reputation or that of its hard-working employees and world-class technology. As a result of his misdeeds, Mr. Grover is no longer an employee, a founder, or a director of the company.”
