Kampala is the capital city of Uganda. It was established as the capital city of Uganda in 1962. In the southern part of Uganda near Lake Victoria. Kampala is a metropolitan city having a population of 1.6 million. Before Kampala, the capital of Uganda was Entebbe but after gaining Independence Kampala became the capital city. Kampala is the largest city in Uganda. Kampala is the name of Buganda origin meaning the hill of Impala, IT forms the capital of various Kabaka kingdoms of Uganda. 

It is perceived to be built on 7 hills like Rome in Italy alongside other wild cities. Kampala was built in 1891, Captain Frederick Kwgard, an apparatus administrator build his Fort there. Kampala is home to Kasubi Toms where Makabas are buried as well as the other members of the royal family of Uganda. The place is a UNESCO World Heritage site since the year 2001. The capital city Kampala is bordered by Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world.

In the terms of agriculture around 30 percent of the residents of Kampala practice urban agriculture but there is no effect on the economy and growth of Kampala. The largest city of Uganda, Kampala explorers a great history of the Year gone. Kampala which had been a municipality since 1949 became the capital city of the newly independent country on October 9th, 1962. Kampala was founded by Captain Luagard as it is said that he built a Fort On The Hills of Kampala for the British East Africa Company. 

By the time Luagard built the fort the idea of developing a city was in motion. But things changed when the Buganda agreement was signed altering the existing forms of land tenure by creating my milo land and give away to chiefs so they could sign the country over to the British. Kampala grew as European settlers and Indian Asian traders moved to the city and also the railway was established in Kampala at that time.

Receiving heavy precipitation during August to December and then from February to June, Kampala is having a  tropical rainforest climate (Af) under the Köppen-Geiger climate classification system.

Due to expansion Kampala now includes swamps and slow rivers which are the result of Kampala’s hilly nature and tropical climate. 

The seasonal or permanent swamps cover 15 percent of Kampala’s land which are Kinawataka Swamp, Kansanga Swamp, and Kyetinda Swamp. If we talk about the resources of Kampala then the main resources of Kampala are iron ore, Copper, cobalt, gold, tungsten, columbite-tantalite, phosphate, limestone, and oil it’s the most valuable resource. 759125 is the zip code of the city.

There are Boda-bodas, which are locally popular motorbike transport. It is accessible for people in order to travel within the city. Apart from this, minibus service and public bus services are available for transportation.

Kampala is a beautiful city famous for its mountains and many top-rated sites which include Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda National Mosque, Royal tombs, Uganda museum, Kabaka’s Palace, St Mary’s Cathedral Rubaga, and so on. There are other attractions such as 
Imperial Beaches, Munyonyo Beach, and Lutembe Beach for tourists.

There are many known mosques in Kampala including the famous Gaddafi’s mosque which was started constructed in 1972 by the former Ugandan President Idi Amin and letter it was completed in 2006 by the late Libyan President Kanama Gaddafi’s donation to the Ugandan Muslim community. This Mosque is currently one of the most visited places in Kampala.

People who are interested in music and bars can hang out in the Uganda National theatre. This theatre is located between Saeed Barry Avenue and Downtown Street. The theatre has quality programming of music, film, dance, and drama performance.
