A free mind is a healthy mind; a decluttered mind allows for positive thoughts and creative ideas. However, in the fast-moving world, people cannot declutter their minds. The pressure from the world around eats the peace and positivity of the mind. 

A person with a cluttered mind looks like this: confused, agitated, irritated, not at ease, indecisive, callous, always complaining about something, discontent, and most importantly, not happy with their lives. On the other hand, people who prioritize their mental health tend to live more fruitful and content lives.

2. Limit the Social Media Usage

Who doesn’t use social media in the 21st century? It has become an essential part of your daily life. However, it is still a part and not everything about your life. 

It is imperative to say that people who limit their social media time are more productive and mentally healthier than people who spend most of their time scrolling on social media platforms. Every smartphone has a feature to limit social media usage. Or you can use other software to restrict social media usage on all your devices. 

Several tools that you can use to limit social media usage are – Freedom (blocks the desired apps from all your devices for the set time), Focus Me, etc. 

3. Give Yourself the Much-Needed “Me Time”

John Dewey writes, “We do not learn from experience … we learn from reflecting on experience.” For reflection, you need a quiet space and time. Make sure you get that space daily (meditation would be the right option) and more so when you think you have a cluttered mind. Spend time with yourself, thinking about your thoughts. Even if it is just 10 minutes of your day.

4. Avoid Multitasking 

Plenty of research shows that multitasking does more harm than good in most cases for most people.

5. Avoid People Who Possess Negative Energy

Whereas, if you are constantly surrounded by people who possess toxic and harmful energy, you tend to feel drained.

Add different things in every room. Your mind associates with things instantaneously and acts accordingly. Give yourself little gifts that you would love to see each day.

7. Go Out For a Stroll in the Neighbourhood

Research shows that your environment influences your brain health. Therefore, surrounding yourself with things and people you love helps your brain focus and live peacefully. You can also change things in your environment to cut monotony and bring in creativity.
