What is the maximum value of the function f(x) = 2x2-2x+6 in the interval [0,2] ?
(A) 6
(B) 10
(C) 12
(D) 5.5

Answer: (B)

Explanation: Differentiating with respect to x
f'(x) = 4x-2
Equating with zero to find extremum point-
x = \frac{1}{2}
Finding value of function on points – 0,1/2,2
f(0) = 6
f(1/2) = 5.5
f(2) = 10
So the maximum value of the function is 10
Therefore the correct option is B.
