Round-1(DSA and Aptitude, the test duration was 2 hours):

The first round comprised 30 MCS questions and 2 medium-level DSA questions,

- Sabu and Chacha Choudhary are solving a case. They found a clue to solve the case. The clue has an array of integers and two values p and q. Let M be a value between p and q (both inclusive). For each integer in the array, they have to find the minimum of (abs(arr[i]-M) for 1<=i<=len(arr) and p<=M<=q). From all those minimum numbers they have to find the maximum value and print the value of M for which it gives maximum value. If more than one M value gives the same maximum answer, print the minimum of those M values.
- I successfully tackled both problems and handled most multiple-choice questions with ease.
- Out of a total of 20 students who were selected (8 for the primary list and 12 on the waitlist).
- I secured a position in the primary shortlist.
Round 2 (Interview):
- I had an interview with two people in a panel, and it lasted about an hour.
- They started by asking about my background and then moved on to my interests. Since I was more into DSA, I told them that’s what I liked. They gave me an easy problem called the Chocolate distribution problem, and I was able to solve it.
- After that, they asked about the projects I’ve worked on, and we had a detailed discussion about them. They also asked follow-up questions to see how well I knew my stuff.
- As the interview continued, they wanted to know where I saw myself in five years. They also asked some simple human resources-related questions.
- After some hours only 2 are selected.
Tips and Advice:
- It’s important to be honest and transparent during interviews, especially since many interviewers come from IITs and can easily spot insincerity. Only include information on your resume that you are confident about.
- Having a strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) is crucial, as it holds significant importance at Jaguar. It’s essential not to give up on your skills and be patient throughout the process. This advice is intended to assist everyone preparing for interviews at Jaguar Land Rover.
