Jami (formerly Ring) is a free and open-source cross-platform software that allows peer-to-peer communication. It was developed by the Savoir-faire Linux Foundation and became part of the GNU Project in 2016. Jami positions itself as a potential free Skype/Whatsapp replacement.
Installing Jami on Linux:

Step 2: Search “Jami” in the application manager and run the application.
