The area boasts a variety of cafes, restaurants, and clubs. The road outside the college is lined with numerous food stalls offering delicious and diverse options.

Inside the campus, there is an abundance of nature, with lush trees and greenery all around. The main building houses a canteen, and there is also a cafe and cafeteria behind the HM department. Free wifi facilities are available both in the campus and hostels. The hostel rooms are well-maintained, providing comfortable accommodations. Additionally, there is a bus facility for those living outside the college. Overall, the college offers a picturesque and convenient environment for students.

The quality of food in the hostel mess is not good , i have tried it. Moreover, the food is served on wet plates, no hygiene. The canteen’s food is also not good . However, the cafeteria and the food stalls outside the college, as well as the cafes, offer better food options.

Induction Sessions:

On the first day, DBUU hosts a week-long induction session for all new students. This helps freshmen interact with others, make friends, and familiarize themselves with the college environment. During these sessions, mentors provide career guidance, share valuable information about college life, study strategies, and placement opportunities. Games are also organized to encourage interaction among students.

I vividly recall one game where a bottle was passed around, and when the music stopped, the person holding the bottle had to do something fun, like singing or dancing. I ended up singing a song from the movie Shershaah. It was an enjoyable experience, and I made new friends while getting acclimated to the college atmosphere.

Following the induction sessions, the college organized various games for freshmen, including carrom, basketball, tennis, badminton, kabaddi, and cricket. I participated in the carrom competition and secured the 2nd position, adding a memorable touch to my initial days at DBUU.

Clubs:

Our college boasts a variety of clubs catering to different interests. For those passionate about singing and dancing, there’s the Surtaal Club. Sports enthusiasts can engage with the Sports Club, while computer science enthusiasts have dedicated coding clubs. During special events like Diwali, Holi, Christmas, and more, the Surtaal Club takes the stage to showcase their performances. It adds a vibrant and cultural dimension to our college experience, allowing students to express their talents and celebrate together during festive occasions.

Our college hosts two major annual festivals that bring excitement and energy to campus life:

Cultural Fest – Pinak:

Pinak is the highlight cultural fest of DBUU, occurring once a year as a week-long event. The fest is a student-driven initiative, offering three days of non-stop music, entertainment, and fun activities. Students organize events such as Roadies challenges, DJ-on-Demand experiences, fashion shows, singing competitions, treasure hunts, and epic PC gaming battles. During the 7-day extravaganza, 2 days are dedicated to celebrity nights featuring renowned singers. In 2023, Sonu Nigam and Vibhor Parashar graced the stage. Another night is reserved for cultural performances by the Surtaal Club, showcasing dances from various Indian cultures, including Garhwali and Nepali dances. Overall, Pinak provides an opportunity for students to enjoy a variety of activities and have a great time together.

Technical Fest – Navdhara:

Navdhara stands as the premier technical fest held annually. The fest aims to bring together the brightest young minds in the country, providing a platform for them to showcase their technical talents. With a nominal registration fee of Rs. 3000 per team and a grand prize of Rs. 1,00,000, Navdhara attracts participants from colleges nationwide. Students compete in 10 different categories for attractive prize money totaling more than 3 lacs. The fest encourages collaboration with a team size of 6 members from the same university or college. Navdhara is a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate their innovative projects and take a significant step toward a successful tech career.

College life is a unique journey filled with countless lessons and experiences that are challenging to put into words. It’s something you have to live and feel for yourself. People often give advice to juniors about what to do or not to do, but I believe that you should follow your instincts. If you make mistakes, it’s okay, as long as you learn from them and use those experiences to grow.

Don’t overthink things, avoid unnecessary stress, and be open to making friends and enjoying the college experience. Many people regret not fully embracing and enjoying their school life, so take the opportunity in college to do the things you might have missed out on earlier. Life is about learning, growing, and creating memories, and college is a fantastic time to do just that.
