Creating Parallax Effect using Flash

Camera movement is really important to provide realism to the scenes, it is possible to take a shot from a camera in the real world but when it comes to 2D animation it is difficult so flash provides the concept of layers to put different parts of the scene on these layers and then moving them up and down to give different angles to the camera. So we will try a similar effect which is known as the Parallax effect.

Animating parallax effect

Parallax effect is used in every animation project, it is actually used in most of the videos because this effect comes when we view any scene or image through different camera angle, like if we uplift the camera we will slightly get the different view of the scene say the top view, so we will animate the parallax effect. Follow the below steps to animate the parallax effect.

Step 1: Open a new project in Adobe Flash.

Step 2: Import an image on the stage. Make sure to use copyright-free images.

Step 3: New window will open choose a copyright-free image.

Step 4: We have everything on different layers.

Step 5: Add a keyframe at frame 100.

Step 6: Change the position of the objects at frame 1 so that it looks like a scene from a low angle.

Step 7: Now at frame 100, change the position of objects so that it looks like a scene from a high angle.

Step 8: Now select a middle frame and apply classic tween.

Step 9: Now press the run button and see the animation.

Congratulations your parallax effect is ready. Now you can press Ctrl + Enter to see the output of the animation. Here is the output video of the animation.
