Bayone Solutions Interview Experience For Software Test Engineer

Hello Geeks,

Being from a tier-3 college, it was a very new topic for me what automation test engineering is like. I used to think software tester was for BCA/B.Sc. graduate who wants to enrol in IT for a better career.

After being rejected from a developer role multiple times, I lost confidence in myself that I could pursue my IT career. But when an HR approached me for a QA engineer role.

I just gave an interview online for 1-round while 2nd-round it was offline. The interviewer asked me simple questions, but I was not able to answer basic ones, even coding questions which I used to solve easily earlier.

That day, I thought I would not be hired at any cost. But I got an offer after one week of interview. I doubted myself if I would get interviewed by the not-so-good company or if I was not hired for a proper role where my knowledge would be utilized.

After, one week of joining, I asked my manager, who was my interviewer during hiring, why he hired me as I was not able to answer most of the questions.

Then, he recalled the interview day saying,

“You remember, that day, I asked you to read about UI/RPA for 15 minutes and explain to me whatever you understand. You answered as if like you were prepared for that topic. This determines that you have very great potential to learn.”

Today, after one year of experience in the company, I learned Selenium, git, GitHub, playwright, katalon technology etc. where I can write automation scripts.

Therefore, geeks, don’t lose hope if you are not able to crack MNCs or bigger IT roles with higher packages, you can still start from small and learn. In the end, growth matters.

All the best!
