TCS Journey Experience

In my school days, I was always at the top of my class, excelling in academics. But when it came to computers and programming, I was completely clueless. I remember starting my intermediate education in the MPC stream, but even then, I had no exposure to the world of computers.

After my intermediate, I appeared for the JEE exam and managed to secure good marks. However, due to my caste being OC, the cutoff for top colleges like IITs and NITs was incredibly high, and unfortunately, I couldn’t make the cut. It was a tough blow, but I didn’t lose hope.

Instead, I decided to take the eamcet exam and to my delight, I got a fantastic rank. This allowed me to join an engineering college, and I chose to pursue Computer Science Engineering. Little did I know that this decision would change my life.

When I started college, I was a complete novice when it came to using laptops or even smartphones. But as I delved deeper into my studies, I realized the importance of programming in today’s world. I started learning Python, attracted by its simplicity and dynamic nature.

As time went on, I began to grasp the concepts of programming and found myself enjoying it more and more. By the time I reached my fourth year, I even had the opportunity to interview with Microsoft. I cleared all three rounds, but unfortunately, I wasn’t selected due to limited openings. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I didn’t let it deter me.

With companies not visiting our college campus and few responses to my off-campus job applications, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands. I turned to platforms like GeeksforGeeks, where I participated in contests and solved practice problems. The thrill of earning Geek Bits and redeeming them for goodies kept me motivated.

Recently, I ordered a GeeksforGeeks laptop bag as a reward for my hard work. And just when I thought things weren’t looking up, I received an offer from TCS. It was a moment of joy and relief, knowing that my efforts had finally paid off.

My journey from being a clueless student to holding a position in TCS has been challenging, but incredibly rewarding. It taught me the importance of perseverance and never giving up on my dreams. And even now, I continue to code, eagerly anticipating what the future holds.
