Tata Elxsi Interview Experience (Off-Campus)

Tata Elxsi, a renowned name in the world of technology and innovation, has always been a dream destination for many aspiring engineers. Here, I share my firsthand experience of the Tata Elxsi interview process, from the initial online test to the final HR round. Eligibility Criteria:

Before diving into the interview rounds, let’s discuss the eligibility criteria that I had to meet. To be considered for the role of Engineer/Senior Engineer at Tata Elxsi, the company required candidates to have a minimum of 60% from their 10th grade onwards till their current degree, with no standing arrears. With these prerequisites in mind, I embarked on my Tata Elxsi interview journey.



Round 1 [Online Test]:

The first hurdle in the Tata Elxsi interview process was the online test, which was taken by a whopping 908 students. This test was divided into three sections: Analytical, Verbal, and Technical Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Here’s a breakdown of the time allocation for each section:

In the coding challenge, candidates were presented with three coding questions, which included tasks like finding the sum of ASCII values in a string, binary addition, and forming a string from the first letter of a given list of words. This round was designed to test not only your technical skills but also your problem-solving abilities under time constraints.



Round 2 [Technical HR Round]:

After successfully passing the online test, I moved on to the Technical HR round, where only 80 students were selected. This round primarily focused on evaluating my technical expertise and understanding of the programming language mentioned in my resume, which was Python in my case. Here are some of the questions and tasks that I encountered:

The Technical HR round lasted around 40 minutes, and it concluded with an opportunity for me to ask questions about career advancements within Tata Elxsi. Additionally, situational questions were posed to assess my teamwork and leadership skills.

Round 3 [General HR Round]:

In the final round, the General HR Round, only 44 students remained. This was a more conventional HR interview, focusing on understanding my personality, values, and aspirations. Here are some of the questions I encountered:
