RBI Entrance Exam Experience For Assistant

So, when I was on the verge of completing my graduation and started applying for post-graduation, the Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) released the forms for the Assistant Post. It was August 2023 (as far as I remember) when the forms were released. So, in this article I will be sharing my journey of how I prepared for the exam, what sections are in this exam, etc.

After my last semester exams of graduation were over, I already had in mind what I had to do post-graduation. So, my daily schedule was to prepare for both the exams i.e. for the post-graduation exam as well as for the RBI entrance exam. RBI Assistant entrance has the following sections: English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. There are a total of 100 questions where a candidate is awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and 1/4th mark is deducted for each negative response. English section contains 30 questions, Numerical ability contains 35 questions and Reasoning ability contains 35 questions. The time duration of the exam is 1 hour (60 minutes).

During my preparation journey, there were many ups and downs that I faced because I had to prepare for both exams. So, to complete my syllabus, I had to get help from Telegram where many teachers are providing free study material. Also, to clear any entrance exam one must take many mock tests so that they get a clear idea of how questions are asked in the exam, how much time to give to a particular question and so on. So, I bought a test series from the Testbook platform and started solving questions. Also, the books that I used during my preparation were: Objective General English by SP Bakshi, SSC Mathematics by Rakesh Yadav Sir and for Reasoning, mock tests were enough according to me.

So, my complete journey was full of doubts, mainly when my post-graduation exam preparation was clashing with government entrance exam preparation. Day and night I was just giving time for exam preparation, but the desire to get a government job always pushed me to work hard. Also, low scores in the mock test didn’t discourage me but rather pushed me to work hard to get the desired post. During this time, my family supported me which again increased my confidence also when I was preparing for both exams, I found out that I was getting better at multitasking things at one time.

In the end, I would just say that whether you succeed in these exams or not these exam preparation journeys mould you into a stronger person than before. The same was my case because when I appeared for the exam in November 2023, I wasn’t able to solve the many questions that were required to move on to the next phase. But, I can say that I have become much stronger than before. Be confident while you are taking the exam and you can clear it with flying colours.

Best of Luck!
