DFCCIL Entrance Exam Experience for Executive (Operations and Business Development)

DFCCIL stands for Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited and is a Govt. of India Enterprise. The post for which I had applied was Executive (Operations and Business Development).

The application process started on 20th May 2023 and ended on 19 June 2023. The registration fee was Rs. 1000 for UR/ OBC-NCL/ EWS. There was no registration fee for SC/ ST candidates. The age limit for this exam of a candidate can be from 21 years to 30 years. DFCCIL conducted three stages of examinations before finalizing the candidates.

So, the Stage I exam was to be conducted in August 2023. The sections asked in this exam were: Mathematics/ Numerical Ability, General Awareness, General Science, Logical Reasoning/ General Intelligence and Knowledge about Railways/ DFCCIL. There were a total of 100 questions and each question was of 1 mark each. 1/4th mark was deducted for every wrong answer. The time duration for this stage was 90 minutes.

Stage-II exam. This stage consisted of many sections. Total number of questions in this stage were 120 of 1 mark each. The time duration for this stage was 120 minutes. It was conducted in December 2023. Different sections in this stage were:

The last stage was the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). It was scheduled for March 2024. In this, the candidates needed to get a minimum T-Score of 42 marks (as far as I remember) in each of the tests to qualify. These minimum marks i.e. 42 marks were to be secured by each candidate irrespective of their category. No negative marking was there in CBAT.

The final list of the candidates that were selected for the Executive Post was selected on 70-30% weightage criteria i.e. 70% weightage was given to the second stage CBT Exam and 30% weightage was given to the Computer Based Aptitude Test Exam.

So, overall I can say that preparing for this exam was a difficult thing as you have to also study about Indian Railways/ DFCCIL, Economics and Marketing, Customer Relations, etc along with your other important sections i.e. Mathematics, General Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Science. I would only suggest you that don’t take these sections such as Knowledge about Indian Railways, Customer Relations, etc in a lightly way. If you don’t score well in these sections, then your chances of selection will be very low, so prepare accordingly.

All the Best!
