Oracle visited my campus on July 21, 2023, for the role of Associate Consultant.
It was the first company on campus this year for batch 2024.
Academic cutoff: CGPA 7 or equivalent to 70% or above; no standing arrears.
- Please note that this is only a full-time job opportunity and does not involve an internship.
- 411 students enrolled and were selected for the assessment (first round).
Online Test: August 9th, 23
- The test consisted of 1 DSA problem (DP medium-hard problem), 10 aptitude questions, and 1 Rest API problem.
- I got a good subsequence for the DSA problem.
- The shortlisted student list was shared one day before the ppt, that is, on August 13.
- 61 students were shortlisted after the assessment round.

The interview consisted of two rounds:
The first was technical and the second was manager + HR.
- The technical was quite good. He asked questions about Java and asked me to write simple code such as merge sort (my fellow mates got questions like palindrome and prime check). They only wanted to check programming knowledge, and they mainly focused on MYSQL. They asked theory and query questions, mainly joins, order, and sort queries. At the end, they also asked about my project. I explained my project briefly.
- I was forwarded to the next round, which was quite tough for me at first. They asked very good questions like what is JSP, what is an autonomous transaction, what is a spring boot, etc. I was able to answer a few of them and say sorry to most of them as I wasn’t prepared for these deep questions, but they did not mind my lack of knowledge but only wanted to check my reaction to tough questions and how I handled pressure as well as communication. After 10 minutes, he shifted to more easy questions about Java and SQL.
Some questions were way too tough for me, but I handled them well.
The interviewer was quite friendly and was telling me answers to questions I was not able to answer. He also explained various topics quite well to me.
At the end, he asked me a few HR questions, like will you be able to shift banglore, etc. (normal HR) questions.
At the end of both interviews, I also asked them a few questions about my job role and the tech stack I would be working on.
The results were announced at 9 p.m. that same day. 18 students were selected, and most of them were good at academic coding and communication.
Luckily, I was selected.
