Introduction:
Hello Everyone, My name is Mayank Verma and I am going to share my Intel On-Campus Interview Experience. In the month of Feb, I received the interview call for the post of Software Network Internship for which I prepared JAVA, the concept of OOPs, and other related theories. Since my background hardware, so, I also prepared for Verilog, Digital Circuits, and a little bit of Analog (but they didn’t ask anything from that). So, the point here is to prepare only related to your profile. The basics of DSA are always a plus point for a Software profile. I would suggest learning a few Frameworks of JavaScript and other web development basics.
Below I am sharing my interview experience, I hope it will be helpful for you all.
Very First Question – “Tell me about yourself”:
As the interview started, the interviewer’s very first question was “Tell me about yourself”. This classic question is very important to understand the candidate’s background, so practice 2-3 times before the interview. After that, he thoroughly went through my resume and started asking me questions about my personal projects and skills. He divided the interview into three parts.
The Three-Part Interview Structure:
1. Brain Teaser – A Glimpse into Analytical Thinking:
To check my logical reasoning skills, he asked one question about the concept of factorial. The question was to count the no. of zeros in n factorial (n!). Once I answered the question correctly, he expected me to write a pseudocode. I went for the brute force method first and explained the code after which I optimised it and explained that too thoroughly. Here, the concept of Time Complexity is important.
2. Technical Questions – Exploring Language Proficiency:
Java and python are my primary languages, so a question was expected from that. He asked a few questions from that which are as follows:
- What is OOPs?
- Expalin pillars of OOPs.
- Difference between JAVA and Python
- Application of both of them.
- Few questions from threads
Since I had done one project in Computer Vision, he asked some questions from that too.
3. Soft Skills Assessment – A Peek into Personal and Professional Aspirations:
In final part of interview, he acessed my soft skills where he asked some common but important questions. Which are as follows:
- Where do you want to see yourself after 5 years?
- What are you expecting from Intel Corporation?
- What do you understand from Leadership?
It is important to convince the interviewer in this round. Think out of box to answer such questions.
Conclusion – An Opportunity to Engage:
As the interview came to its end, he asked if there any query or question from my side. Never say No to such question. Do research in the company you are applying for and ask questions from that. For example: How intel is tackling the competion against AMD? When will intel enter in GPU market? It reflects how much intrested you are in joining the company.
Final Thoughts:
The difficulty level of interview was easy to moderate. Whether you are applying for software role or hardware, all you need is to brushup the basics throughly. Also go through your resume because most of the question they frame are from resume only.
