Immersive technologies-Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) is type of Immersive Technology. Augmented reality is the overlay of digital content on the real-world environment. Virtual objects can be in various forms : images, videos, or interactive data.

How does AR works ?

List of devices required for experiencing AR:

  1.  Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that enhances the real world with virtual objects or information. Here are some devices commonly used in AR:
  2. Smartphones: AR is often implemented in smartphone applications, which use the phone’s camera, accelerometer, and gyroscope to track the user’s movements and display AR content on the phone’s screen.
  3. Head-mounted displays (HMDs): AR HMDs are wearable devices that display AR content directly in front of the user’s eyes, creating a fully immersive experience. Examples of AR HMDs include the Microsoft Hololens, the Magic Leap One, and the Meta 2.
  4. Tablets: AR can also be experienced on tablet devices, which offer a larger screen and more processing power than smartphones.
  5. Smart Glasses: AR smart glasses are wearable devices that display AR content in the user’s field of view. Examples include the Vuzix Blade, the North Focals, and the Epson Moverio.
  6. Drones: AR can also be implemented in drone technology, which uses the drone’s camera and sensors to display AR content in the sky.
  7. Projectors: AR projectors can project AR content onto surfaces, creating an interactive experience.
