How to Create a Stick Figure Animation using Flash?

Flash is used in a wide number of things like creating logos, gifs, vector images, animations, etc. It is a lightweight software and does not need heavy graphics so it can be used on any system with minimum requirements like a dual-core processor and 4 GB ram. From 1996 to 2021 a number of versions of flash were released but the foundation of these are almost similar. It was designed to be used on multiple platforms like Ubuntu, Mac, etc.

Stick Figure Animation

Stick figures are the simplest form of cartoon characters that are being used in lots of projects and they are really interactive. These are simple to make and can be animated frame by frame to give realistic animation feel so we will animate a running scene frame by frame. Follow the following steps to animate the stick figure.



Step 1: Open a new project in Flash.



Step 2: Draw two rectangles on the stage using the rectangle tool and set gradient to linear gradient.

Step 3: Draw one more rectangle at the base of the above created rectangles.

Step 4: Make a starting point using lines and a rectangle and write START.

Step 5: Similarly make an ending point and write GFG.

Step 6: Add a new layer using Add new layer button on the timeline and name this layer Stickman.

Step 7: Draw a stick figure using the brush tool.

Step 8: Turn on the Onion Skin to see the previous and next frame drawings.

Step 9: Insert a frame at 175th frame by pressing F5 on Layer 1.

Step 10: On the stickman layer, we insert a keyframe at frame 3 by pressing F6 and then creating a new stick figure slightly different from the previous one.

Step 11: Using onion skin make different stick figures frame by frame.

Step 12: Press the run button to see the animation.

Congratulations your stick figure animation is ready now you can press Ctrl + Enter to see the final output.
