Genpact Interview Experience for SDE

Hello, Everyone Genpact visited our college in September 2023 for a software developer role, and the process was 4 rounds.

Round-1

The first round consisted of 8 MCQ questions and 1 coding question (test duration: 1 hour):

After 3 days, we got the shortlisted students’ names: 103/2000, who were selected for the next round.

Round-2 (GD-Group Discussion)

For round 2, we were called to our campus, and the process started at 10 p.m. They divided us into groups of at least 10 students per group. Half of the of the group got the topic of social media, and the other half got the topic work from home or work from the office. At the start of GD, they asked us to speak one by one and start the discussion with each other.

This was a major elimination round; out of 103, only 45 got selected for round 3, and I was one of them.

Round-3 (Technical Interview)

In the technical round, he started with the self-introduction. After that, he straight-jumped to the core subjects; his primary questions were from the database, like all normal forms and acid properties,  and he also asked me to write queries for the second highest salary. Then he shifted to the OPPS concept, like abstraction vs. interface and exception handling. In the OS, he asked me about the scheduling algorithm and what paging and deadlock are. After the core subjects, he took my resume and started asking questions about my projects. My projects were in ML and web development, so he asked me what model you have used, why this model, and what the advantages of this model are. For web development, he asked me about the basics of React and what an API is. HTTP vs. HTTPS. A few of my friends were asked to write the code for the project.

Suggestion: Please mention anything on your resume that you know, and don’t only practice that; only do some work around it, like I said when he asked me about different models in my ML project.

The technical round and the HR round were happening at the same time, so I don’t know how many got selected for the HR round. I was selected for the HR round.

Round-4 (HR Interview)

The HR interview was only for 15-20 minutes because it was very late. They asked simple questions like: Introduction, Family Background, What if you don’t get selected?, What is your future plan?, What if you get the better offer?. I made a mistake by not studying about the company. When HR asked me about the company, I was not able to answer.

At last, only 13 students got placed in Genpact, and unfortunately, I was not one of them.

I hope this helps you guys with your placement.
