Hey everyone, I’m excited to share my admission journey, particularly about my experience with the college admission process. Before delving into the details of the admission procedures, let me first recount how I learned about this examination. After completing my 10th grade, I initially considered preparing for the JEE examination. However, after discussing it with my parents, my dad suggested pursuing a technical course. Upon researching, I discovered Diploma (Polytechnic) courses, which one can enroll in directly after the 10th grade. Initially, I considered the Bihar Polytechnic exam since I’m from Bihar. However, later I learned about a university newly established by the Delhi government – DSEU (Delhi Skill Entrepreneurship University), offering Diploma programs. Upon further exploration, I discovered that the courses offered here are unique, focusing on Entrepreneurship, which intrigued me. Consequently, I decided to take its entrance exam.
The entrance examination for DSEU is called CET (Common Entrance Test). Let me detail the exam process:
Application Process: To begin, one needs to visit the official website of DSEU (dseu.ac.in). A pop-up will appear, providing a registration link. After clicking, you’ll be directed to a new dashboard to fill in your basic details like name, address, qualifications, personal information, email, and phone number. The crucial step is selecting the desired course, such as a Full-time Diploma (FTD) or a Part-time Diploma. I opted for FTD. Next, you need to submit documents like a passport-sized photo, mark sheets (10th or 12th), income certificate (if applicable), caste certificate (if applicable), and Transfer or Migration certificate from your previous school. Additionally, you’ll need to provide a Letter of Recommendation signed by the school principal, an Anti-Ragging form signed by your parent, and a medical fitness certificate signed by a doctor. Finally, you’ll need to pay the nominal admission fees, which vary based on the category.
Eligibility of Course: For my experience, I chose Full-time Diploma in Computer Engineering. FTD is a three-year diploma course offered in different branches like computer, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. The academic requirement is passing the 10th or 12th class from a recognized board. The minimum criteria are 10th pass, but based on 12th pass, one can also directly gain admission to the 2nd year.
Admission Examination: This is the most crucial aspect. The CET exam commenced shortly after the launch of DSEU in 2021. From then until now, the examination has been conducted online, although it may be offline this year. When I applied, I received an update from the official site that the examination would be held online. As for the syllabus, rather than detailing it, let me explain the paper pattern. It’s similar to the CUET exam, consisting of four sections. The total duration is 30 minutes for sections A and B, and 30 minutes each for sections C and D.
a) Setion A – Communication Skill :- This section covers the general questions related to English grammar such as Subject-verb-Agreement, Articles, Parts-of-speech, few synonyms and antonyms and also passage based questions. It also cover the question related to communication. It consists of 15 Questions.
b) Section B – Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning : This section also contain 15 questions. The questions types are based of mental ability, reasoning like number system, sitting arrangement , blood-relation, etc.
c) Section C- class 10th science and maths : This section contains 30 questions. It covers the questions related to class 10th maths , topics such as – Trigo, number system, mensurations. physics, chemsitry and biology questions too.
d) Section D – This section is optional for one who is filling for FTD , This is mandatory only for one want to persue diploma in pharmacy, so I have left this one. But I will explain in brief, it contain 30 questions of class 12th science and human body related.
Qualifing cutoff is that Candidates are required to secure either ⅓marks in each of the sections or 45% of totalmarks.
Now I like to share my experience how I prepare for this exam and cleared , so then if I say trully the exam was not so hard for me as the seeing paper pattern I knew that I just requires i revision, as because just board exam was overed then all maths and science topics were cleared and learnt , and english and reasoning and quantitative apptitude was also not so hard as before I had prepared for NTSE and in that I bought guide book that covers all these topics with that I had practiced a lot. Basiclly before 1 week of exam I have just practiced some previous year questions . And finnally given eam I got AIR 780 (genral category rank).
Basically the CET examination has not any interview round its complete theory based examination CBT based , so there is not any interview.
4. Choosing college – After the result the announced the counselling window opened for all to choose the college, as I told I am Bihar , so we know there is 85 percent seat reserved for delhi candidate and 15 percent is only for all-over-India. My rank was 780(general), I had to take the computer engineering but I was not sure that whether I will get or not. Ater that I participated in counselling filled the college name , courses want. Note – the counselling for FTD of DSEU is free it not charge any fee .In our university there are three colleges I choosed based on there ranking and courses – DWARKA campus , Ambedkar shakarpur campus , Rohini campus. In first round I filled all these three colleges and course was CSE and ECE. In first round I got in Rohini CSE, but I wanted Ambedkar campus because it is best in CSE , so finally I filled it at top in second round and hopefully I got my college in second round only. I was very happy , finally I freze my seat and paid the addmission fess.
The reason behind choosing Ambedkar DSEU campus is first it has top ranking in CSE branch, I also explored its review on youtube , linkedin, the campus life and faculty support and then decided to choose it.
So finally I would like to conclude that this was my first entrance exam and I cleared it in first attempt only, the exprience was really good. I would like to suggest to give the entrance exam if you want best diploma college.
