Recruitment process:

It had 4 rounds. The applicants were first shortlisted based on their resumes.

  1. Online assessment round.
  2. Technical interview – Round 1.
  3. Technical interview – Round 2.
  4. HR interview.

Online assessment round:

The online assessment round was held on 21st July 2023. It comprised MCQs and coding questions.

  1. Sort and find the middle element.
  2. Fibonacci with a twist.
  3. Replacements and anagrams. A similar one can be found here: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/minimum-number-of-manipulations-required-to-make-two-strings-anagram-without-deletion-of-character/amp/

Though the questions seemed to be easy, there were edge cases in all the 3 questions, which none of the candidates were able to clear.

Only 6 students were shortlisted for the next rounds based on the assessment results.

Round 1: Technical Interview

It was held on 27th July 2023 in virtual mode. The interviewer first asked for an introduction followed by the details of the projects. The most important project I mentioned was on the blockchain, and hence questions were asked on the blockchain basics which then went on to an advanced level. Many questions were asked on the project, so the tip is to be thorough with the concepts and technologies used in your projects. It was then followed by questions on OOP, Java, OS, and Computer networks. Questions were also asked on DSA, it included questions on trees, arrays, linked lists, and strings. The last question was a puzzle. The difficulty level of the questions was easy to moderate.

Round 2:Technical Interview

Round 2 was also held on the same day. The topics of the questions were similar to the ones in round 1, but the complexity of the questions was far more than what I had expected. The questions again started from blockchain which went on to cybersecurity, followed by OOP, Java, OS, Computer networks, and DSA. All the questions tested the understanding of the topics in depth. More emphasis was given to Java, OS, and CN, projects in this round. The difficulty level of the questions was moderate to very difficult.

HR Interview:

Only one candidate was able to qualify for this round. It was held on 31st July 2023. The questions were mainly based on knowledge about the company, and understanding of the corporate world, followed by a discussion about the role and life at Versa.

The final result was declared on 1st August, 2023 and the candidate was selected. Luckily, I was that one candidate and felt really happy for clearing all the rounds which were not at all easy, but were challenging and boosted my self-confidence.

Pro-tip: Always ask for feedback after your interview, which makes the interview realize that the candidate is open to improvements and corrections.
