Key Responsibilities:
I worked on a research paper Get To The Point: Summarization with Pointer-Generator Networks. Developed pointer generator networks for text summarization. Achieved 58% accuracy on a large dataset CNN/Daily Mail dataset. Implemented coverage mechanism to prevent repetition. Work made a significant contribution to the field of text summarization
The research suggests a unique architecture for extractive and abstractive text summarising that combines their advantages. The pointer-generator network may generate unique words and copy words from the original text, allowing for more inventive summaries while simultaneously ensuring that the summary is accurate.
The article was published in the Proceedings of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL’s) 55th Annual Meeting, a prestigious conference for the study of natural language processing. The fact that the publication has been cited more than 1,000 times shows how influential it has been in the field.
Scope for the work:
Enhancing the precision and clarity of summaries. A potential method for abstractive text summarization is the pointer-generator network, however, it can yet be enhanced. Improved techniques for choosing words from the source text and producing new words are one way to accomplish this.
adding new jobs to the pointer-generator network. Text summarization is not the only application for the pointer-generator network. Other uses for it include the production of natural language and machine translation as well as answering questions.
Using distinct domains with the pointer-generator network. News articles have been the main application of the pointer-generator network. It could, however, also be utilized in other fields, such as technical writing, legal writing, and medical reports.
