My first internship experience at an NGO
Description of the company
Madadgaar Foundation is an NGO where I found my first internship opportunity as Content Writer. It was started by some of the seniors of other departments of my college.
Interview round
I got the chance for the interview by winning an event organized by the foundation. It was my first interview so I was nervous but all went well and I was selected. Later I was promoted to technical head based on my excellent performance and obedience.
My designation and responsibilities :
I joined the organization as a content writer and was later promoted to technical head. I worked in the organization for one year.
Key responsibilities as a content writer :
- Writing content for daily posts for social media handles.
- Writing articles and blogs for the website.
- Writing content for events organized.
- Writing content for special celebrations.
Key responsibilities as a technical head :
- Guiding interns about their work.
- Hosting online events.
- Hosting orientation sessions for the organization.
- Reviewing the content submitted by interns.
- Managing the schedule of events and proper conduction of the events.
What did I learn?
I learned to work in a team and understand how it feels to work when you are in a team. As our team distributed several necessary items to the needy and poor people, I also went to places for distribution. I have seen and felt the ground reality of the life of the poor.
My writing skills got improved. I also got to manage the interns which enhanced leadership skills in me.

Cons
- As a head, managing all the interns and getting their work done by the deadline became challenging sometimes.
I will always be thankful to the foundation and my seniors for giving me a chance to start my career path.
