Recently, I have been through the interview experience of OLX India and I would like to share my experience with everyone.
Eligibility :
- CS/IT related branches
- Minimum 65% in Academics(X, XII)
- Minimum 6.5 CGPA with no standing arrears
Totally there were five rounds 1 coding+ 2 technical + 1 EM Engineering Manager + 1 HR
Round 1 (Coding-1.5 hr): This was conducted on codility platform which is a power tool that detects plagiarism and generates report on checking various testcases. Questions were logical based which contains 2 medium and a hard level questions.
- Difficulty Level – Medium
- Time Duration – 90 Minutes
- Total Questions – 3
From this round out of 480 applicants 33 members were shortlisted
Round 2 (Technical – Data Structures & Algorithms Round-1hr): Self Introduction and brief explanation about projects
First he asked me some basic definitions of data structures after that they asked below
- https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/find-a-repeating-and-a-missing-number/amp/. First i have done the normal naive approach the he asked me to optimize and helped me to reach optimized solution
- https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/a-program-to-check-if-a-binary-tree-is-bst-or-not/amp/
- https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/find-number-of-islands/
He just asked the approach for this question dint asked for writing code. Interviewer was very helpful and pushes us if we stuck somewhere.
Round 3 (Technical – System Design Round-1hr): In this round it was deep dive into the projects done and given one real time scenario asked me to draw entity relationship diagram.
- Then he asked me do write all classes and their respective variables, methods and relationship between them that could be possible for given scenario.
- Scenario given – Restaurant review system (similar to google maps)
- Then he asked some sql queries based on scenario using joins and asked about algorithms used in our projects.
Round 4 (Managerial Round-1hr): This round is to check whether we’re suitable for the team taken by Engineering manager
There will be personality based questions and some open ended questions like
- How facebook friend suggestions work and so
And then he asked puzzles one of them i remembered was
- There were total 10 coins out of them 1 is defected and how many min no.of weightings will you take to find defected coin given 2 sided weighting machine (old type) and then he further took question for 100 coins and asked me to give an approach to code for this logic.
Round 5 (HR-30 mins):
- This wasn’t an elimination round. This round is just to give an idea about OLX and it’s operations, businesses.
- We can ask doubts in these rounds if any about role/company.
- And we further discussed about work location, Aspirations, Ambitions. Compensation benefits.
Out of 33 students, 2 members are selected for the OLX internship+FTE. This whole process is a Remote process due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
