NRI FT Interview Experience for ASE (On-Campus) 2023

NRI FT visited our Campus in 2023 to hire students of batch 2024 with a package of 10.63lpa for the role of Associate Software Engineer.

Aptitude Round:

Sections of questions: Verbal, Quantitative, logical, Technical, IQ, CLI commands, C++, Java, Web development.

A total of 85 questions were given to be solved in 90 minutes.

Technical Round 1:

When I arrived at the meeting, the interviewer welcomed me and asked me a short question to begin. Describe yourself to me.

He looked over my resume and instructed me to describe each project.
He asked me about why I chose only that particular topic for the project as it was a frontend project he asked me how would integrate the backend and database and the technology that I would choose for doing the same.
He gave me an A4 sheet and told me to implement any real-world problem using the OOPS concept(specifically in Java).
He asked me to write 2 codes :
1. Calculate the frequency of each word in the given string(I solved it using both brute force and optimized approach)
2. Find missing element in an Array.(Solved this question within 30sec)
Difference between stack and heap memory?
Difference between arraylist and vector?
Diamond Problem of Multiple Inheritance.
What is Inheritance and its types?
Difference between SQL and NOSQL?
Why I preferred MongoDb for my project instead of SQL?(Till this questions I was very fluent and answered all of them).
Then He Displayed a Database of Employee tables which consist of two tables.(A mistake I did was that I told the interviewer that I am very confident about SQL which I was not)
He asked me to write queries about:
a] Joins
b] group by
c] aggregate functions
A question on Self Join and Cross Join
Questions I asked him: Why they are using only java for backend developement even if other technology such as node.js is present in the market.

Technical Round 2:

Introduce yourself.
What are collections frameworks? Which of the collections do you know? Explain each one of them.
A coding question on longest common Subsequence.
He had a sheet of various programs. Along with additional follow-up questions, he requested me to describe the concepts employed, the logic, the flow of the program, and the result of each program. OOP principles, DSA, Java Collections, lambda functions, and patterns served as the foundation for the programs.
Project discussion
Are you a team player or an individual player?-I answered team player. Follow up, questions-Why team player? How do you handle differences between team members?
I mentioned my experience of working for the operations team. Follow-up questions-So what work did you do? What did you learn from your experience there?
