NIT Warangal Admission Experience

National Institute of Technology Warangal (NITW) is one of the most renowned engineering institutions in India which is the first in the chain of 31 NITs in the country. This prestigious institute has a rich history of distinction in teaching, research and service to the nation. NITW is the preferred institution for top rankers in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) because of its excellent faculty and infrastructure. Currently, this institution holds a NIRF rank of 21.

The institute offers 8 undergraduate programmes in engineering, 29 postgraduate programmes in engineering, sciences and management and research programmes in engineering, sciences, humanities, physical education and management. The Institute currently has 13 academic departments and a few advanced research centres, with nearly 100 laboratories, Central Library, an Auditorium, a Student Activity Centre, a Mega Computer Centre, an Indoor Games Complex, a Stadium and Seminar Halls with state-of-the-art facilities.



To get admission here, aspirants need to secure a minimum of ninety-five percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) exam. This exam is a rigorous test of one’s knowledge in physics, chemistry and mathematics as well as problem-solving skills. After qualifying this exam one needs to participate in the centralized counselling process known as the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. One can also participate in the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) counselling which commences after the completion of the JoSAA counselling.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for admission, candidates should have completed their class XII examination or an equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate in the class XII board examinations or should be in top 20 percentile in their respective board. Candidates from reserved categories may have certain relaxations.



The JoSSA counselling:

The JoSSA counselling commences after the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) and Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) are declared. This counselling process which consists of 2 mocks in addition to the 6 seat allocation rounds spans over a period of nearly a month. After enrolling oneself for this counselling process by filling in our details we need to :

The CSAB counselling:

The CSAB counselling commences after the completion of the JoSSA counselling. Here the candidates who are not satisfied with their seat in the JoSSA counselling or those who did not participate in the JoSSA counselling and can see a vacant seat in the college they desire usually participate. This counselling process consists of 2 seat allocation rounds and spans over a period of nearly 15 days.

Physical Reporting to the College:

Once you have secured your seat in NITW you need to visit the NITW website for the updates regarding physical reporting, paying hostel fees and further notices. You need to carry your JEE(Main) admit card, JEE(Main) score card, Seat Allocation Letter, Class XII or equivalent mark sheet or Pass Certificate, Medical Certificate, Class X mark sheet and Pass Certificate, College Leaving Certificate, Migration Certificate, Category Certificate(if applicable), passport size photograph for the physical reporting and upload the same on the SMILE portal as and when notified by the authorities.
