MW3 Multiplayer Trailer & Everything You Need To Know

There have been some substantial upgrades in the multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) compared to its precursor. Season 1 heightens the gaming experience with a comprehensive collection of new content. The multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty MW3 covers all the players’ complaints in the initial months of Modern Warfare 2. The multiplayer feature stands out as the illustrative feature in all of the Call of Duty franchise and every player grinds to unlock all MW3 camos. Hence, the latest addition to one of our favorite FPS game series delivers an amazing multiplayer experience. We will cover everything you should know about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer during Season 1, including details about new maps, modes, weapons, and more.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer

Building upon the structure of MW2, the COD MW3 consists of overhauls to the Perk system, mini-map features, new health, and more. Alongside new maps, remastered maps, Gunsmith updates, and new weapons, there are a total of 37 weapons (with 77 returning ones), 20 maps, 13 game modes at launch, and 25 Operators (these will keep getting updated).

Even though Modern Warfare 3 is building upon the foundations laid by MW2, it is the small but focused alterations that make for a better gameplay experience and matches fans’ expectations. Across the board, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is much faster and comes without the long animations and a smoldering fast time-to-kill rewarding a slower playstyle.

Furthermore, the maps (even the ones that were made a decade ago) feel almost brand-new due to the fast movement and new animations of MW3 multiplayer. Here are the new features and major changes made with Call of Duty MW3 multiplayer, and how these will impact your gameplay experience:

Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer Season 1 New Changes

  • Nine new MW3 Aftermarket Parts
  • Five new weapons
  • Two new Killstreaks
  • Four new maps (three Core 6v6 arenas, one 2v2 map)
  • Return of Gunfight (plus Team Gunfight), All or Nothing, Infected, and Headquarters modes
  • New Vortex mode
  • New MW3 ranked play mode
  • The MW3 Season 1 Battle Pass contains weapon blueprints, Operators, and more

Festive Event

Similar to the older installments, Call of Duty MW3 showcases the Season post-launch offering new guns, maps, modes, and more. Furthermore, these updates will provide a live-service structure as players anticipate new content and changes that will be made in the upcoming Season and the mid-season Reloaded update.

Call of Duty MW3: New Guns

XRK Stalker – sniperx-

RAM-7 – assault rifle

HRM-9 – SMG

TAQ Evolvere – LMG

Stormender – launcher

The new guns might totally topple the MW3 multiplayer meta, and also the Season weapons in the previous game. Also, most of the time, it is the new additions that bring an element of meta to multiplayer as they are considerably better than the existing selection of guns in almost every way.

To spice things up, MW3 Season 1 has added Meat, Greece, Rio, and Training Facility to increase what it offers in multiplayer. Majorly, these brand-new maps are not remakes of existing ones from the previous games. If you purchase the Vault Edition, the most expensive of MW3, you will get access to the first Season’s battle pass which includes 50 tier skips, putting you through half of the battle pass straightaway.

Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer New Features

With a variety of new features, systems, and transformations in MW3 multiplayer, you will find a lot to like in this game, even though, it is not quite the reinvention fans were hoping for. Check out the new features below:

MW3 Perk and Gear system

A new Perk system has been introduced in the MW3 wherein the perks are swapped out for individual gear pieces and vests, along with many of the classic Perks. These are the same as the older Perks in the moment-to-moment gameplay, and will change how you decide the one suitable for you.

The addition of a Vest slot allows you to choose from 4 different armored vests, dedicating the available Perk slots. To give an example, the Infantry Vests consists of Gloves, Boots, and Gear slots. On the other hand, the Gunner Vest will only provide access to Gloves and Gear, enhancing the careful choice you will have to make when you make your loadout.

Furthermore, each category gives different ‘Perks’ to choose from. The Gloves usually help upgrade weapon handling, like the Quick Grip Gloves offer increased weapon shift speed. Boots will offer alter movement like Tactical Pods that increase slide distance. The Gear slot has the most alternatives and is useful for EOD Padding to reduce damage from non-Killstreak explosives and fire.

MW3 Tac-Stance and Movement Changes

The new multiplayer title will also see the addition of the Tac-Stance movement system and some changes in the player movement from MW2 such as:

You can slide cancel

You can cancel partial reloads

Mantling is faster and you can mantle while sprinting

You can fire during and immediately after sprinting

Tactical Sprint durations are increased

Tactical Sprint recharges while sprinting

New Tac-Stance suited for close-quarters combat

All the aforementioned changes make MW3 multiplayer faster and more responsive. While these might not seem a lot, but, in action, these are really impactful and tend to change our approach to firefights.

MW3 Aftermarket Parts

The Aftermarket Parts feature makes its debut in MW3 Multiplayer, giving us unparalleled Gunsmith customization. This feature adds an extra layer of customization by changing how a weapon works. For example, a pistol can be turned into a fully-automatic carbine or dual-wield SMGs.

The Aftermarket Parts can be earned by completing Weekly challenges and are useful when you are building the best MW3 loadouts.

MW3 Health Changes

Another new feature in the MW3 Multiplayer is increased health and a lengthening the time-to-kill (TTK), except in Hardcore modes.

The base health is now increased to 150 and with a decreased headshot multiplayer, the TTK is longer. This allows for more counter-play combined with a less irritating experience and more time to return fire.

However, the same conditions apply to your opponents.

MW3 Classic Mini-Map

The classic mini-map is back in Call of Duty MW3 multiplayer. It displays red dots marking the enemies when they fire an unsuppressed weapon. This not only makes suppressors impactful but also works for tracking down nearby enemies. The older titles made it tricky to spot enemies, however, this is a welcome change.

Call of Duty MW3 multiplayer Carry Forward

The MW3 multiplayer will allow you to transfer all your weapons, camos, Operators, and even the purchased bundles from MW2 and Warzone via ‘Carry Forward.’ This option ensures that your progress from the previous titles is not lost and thus, the new title will consist of brand-new firearms as well as some of the best weapons from MW2 as well.

Furthermore, the progress with the weapons, camos, and attachments will stay the same as well. Hence, the vets will not have to grind through the progress and can focus on the new additions.

Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer Maps

A total of 20 maps are present in the MW3 multiplayer during the launch, including many new maps in the competitive mode. But, the core map is made of remastered maps from the OG Modern Warfare 2.

Season 1 changes the Ground War, Invasion, and War game modes as well. With each Season, new maps will be added to 6v6 modes, and there will be a mix of new and remastered MW 2 (2009) towards the end of the MW3 multiplayer cycle.

A handful of maps will be carried forward from MW3’s predecessor, starting with MW3 Season 1. It will be labeled as “Modern Warfare 2 Carry Forward maps.” Furthermore, Activision has stated that these maps are “completely additive,” and will appear in addition to a full complement of new (remastered) season maps.

MW3 Multiplayer is perfect for those seeking a nostalgia trip as maps like Terminal and Highrise are remade. But, all the changes to the series such as new movement systems, weapons, and attachments will provide a different experience.

Call of Duty MW3 Multiplayer Game Modes

Most of the MW3 Multiplayer modes have made an appearance in almost all modern COD games. However, the Warm Mode from COD WW2 (2018) stands out as it makes a return in MW3 Multiplayer as well.

Another mode to commend is Cutthroat. This is a new 3v3v3 competitive mode added to MW3 Multiplayer at launch wherein you will have one life/round and the goal is to eliminate the enemy or capture the overtime flag.
