National Game of India
India doesn’t have officially declared any official national game til now. The RTI Foundation of India clearly states in response to an inquiry under the Right to Information (RTI) Act that the Sports Ministry clarified that there is no specific sport has been declared as the national game of India officially.
The history of Indian hockey began with a significant chapter when India entered the Olympics specifically. During this golden era, the Indian Hockey Federation experienced remarkable success. Dhyan Chand the legend became the major strength who scored over 100 goals out of the 192 goals on behalf of India in 21 matches. The journey started in Amsterdam in 1928, followed by so many wins including Los Angeles in 1932 and Berlin in 1936. With this hat-trick, India secured gold medals at the Olympics.
These were the reason that people of India started recognising Hockey as their national game. But Government has not declared any national game till now.
