Round 1(HackWithInfy Round 1): Online coding competition was conduced on HackerEarth. 3 Questions had to be solved in 3 hours. 1 question is easy, 1 question is of intermediate level and 3rd question is difficult to level. If one has solved 1.5 questions or more, you will be selected for round 2.
Round 2(HackWithInfy Round 2): Online coding competiton takes place similar to the first round only difference is that the difficulty level is increased. If one wants to get selected for hackathon + in top 100 rank holders, all 3 questions have to be solved. If you want to get selected for PP(Power Programmer) role interview you have to solve at least 2 questions. If you want to get selected for SES(System Engineer Specialist) role interview you have to solve at least 1.5 questions. Weightage/marks for every question is different.
Round 3(Interview Round): I got mail for my interview about 5-6 days before the interview date.
- Interviewer: Introduce yourself.
- Me: Answered. (Talk about yourself, your interests, any achievements, any internship experience– keep it short & crisp).
- Interviewer: Do you know about software engineering?
- Me: Yes
- Interviewer: What is SDLC? What are the various models?
- Me: Answered.
- Interviewer: Which SDLC model is used in the industry these days?
- Me: I said No as I don’t know about that.
- Interviewer: Explain normalization and it’s types.
- Me: Answered.
- Interviewer: Do you know about SQL queries?
- Me: Yes
- Interviewer: I will share a table with you a query has to be written according to the question asked.
- Me: Answered the query in the chatbox.
- Interviewer: Which all sorting algorithms you know?
- Me: Answered.
- Interviewer: Write a code(any language) for Quick Sort.
- Me: Answered in the chatbox.
- Interviewer: Which is the best sorting algorithm and why?
- Me: Answered.
- Interviewer: Difference between array and linked list?
- Me: Answered(atleast answer 3 differences)
- Interviewer: Do you have any question?
- Me: Asked 1-2 questions.
- Interviewer: Answered.
After 10 days of the interview, my result was declared to the TPO and I was selected.
Tips for Interview:
- Be confident. Prepare your resume well.
- Be prepared with basics of software engineering.
- Prepare DBMS well. Sql query is majorly asked.
- Basics of OOPs and DS (coding part) must be prepared well.
- Say No if you don’t know any answer.
- Keep calm, relaxed, and get enough sleep, the night before the interview.
