How to Unlock CLI Tab of Switch Through PC?

Pre-requisite: How to Install Cisco Packet Tracer on Windows, What is Cisco Packet Tracer.

Packet Tracer is computer software that is designed with the purpose of making network simulations to understand networking and cybersecurity concepts easily. It is built by Cisco Corporation and is available for free for different operating systems like macOS, Windows, Linux, etc. It is easy to easy with a simple interface.



Unlock the CLI tab of Cisco Switch by PC:

Step 1: Create the topology in the Cisco Packet Tracer as shown below:

 

Workspace Device List:



 

Step 2: Connect the PC to switch with a console cable. Select the console cable under the “connections”:

 

 

Step 3: Open the PC and select the “Desktop” tab and under the Desktop tab, click on “Terminal”:

 

Step 4: After the terminal configuration, click on “OK”:

 

You will have the CLI tab access of the Cisco switch through PC’s terminal:
