Kazam is my preferred tool for screen recording on Ubuntu. It offers a user-friendly interface with a well-designed screen recording and screenshot feature. With control over audio volumes and the screen area being captured, it can concurrently record desktop video and several audio streams. You may use Kazam to capture your full screen, a certain window, or even a specific portion of the screen. The Kazam hotkeys are available to you and may be used to begin, pause, resume, and end recording. The most recent versions of Kazam even let you record keyboard keystrokes and mouse clicks. Any video player that supports the VP8/WebM video format may play the video file that is recorded by Kazam, a straightforward screen recording tool when it is running. Any sound input device that PulseAudio supports and can see can be used to record sound as an option.

Installation of Kazam on Ubuntu Operating System
On your Ubuntu computer, you can update Kazam by using the Sylvain Pineau PPA. The full procedure for installing Kazam is as follows:
Step 1: Add Sylvain Pineau PPA in step one. The Sylvain Pineau PPA needs to be added to your system’s apt sources as the first thing you need to do. To add it, execute the code below:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sylvain-pineau/kazam
Step 2: Update the Apt Package Index. The apt package index has now been updated. The directive is as follows:
$ sudo apt update
Step 3: Install Kazam. You may now install Kazam on your Ubuntu machine because the system has been updated with the new repository. Use the following command to do so.
$ sudo apt install kazam
Step 4: Install additional packages. Two more programs must be installed in order to record keyboard or mouse clicks. The command to install these packages is as follows:
$ sudo apt install python3-xlib python3-cairo
If prompted, press Y to proceed.
Step 5: Verify Installation. Type kazam followed by the -v flag to see if Kazam has been installed as well as the version of the program that has been installed:
$ kazam -v
The output listed below confirms the installation of Kazam version 1.5.3.
Step 6: Start Kazam. You have two methods for starting Kazam once the installation is complete: the command line or the program menu (GUI).
Method 1: Use the following command to start Kazam from the command line:
$ kazam
Method 2: The Activities tab is located in the top left corner of the desktop. Click it to start Kazam from the application menu (GUI). Next, enter “kazam” in the search field. To open the Kazam icon from the results, click it.
