How Can You Identify the IP Class of a Given IP Address?

Answer: To identify the IP class of a given IP address we check the first octet of the IP address. Every class of IP address have specified range of first octet of IP address. So, for the given IP check the first octet of IP falls under which class range and accordingly identify the class of given IP address.

Steps to Identify the IP Class of a Given IP Address

First, get the first octet of the given IP address.
Check the first octet of given IP address with the range of class of IP address table.
The range of class in which the first octet belongs to is the class of the given IP address.
