The Recruitment Process has three rounds.
Round 1: Telephonic Interview
The interviewer introduced herself and informed me that this call is for checking your knowledge in the computer science domain and to know about your educational background. The questions asked in this round are listed below:
- Introduce yourself with your educational background.
- What is object-oriented programming and explain the terms associated with it with the real-life examples?
- What is a foreign key?
- what is normalization in DBMS?
- Differentiate between C and Python?
- Rate yourself in Python, C, and C++ as these are the languages I mentioned in my resume.
- Local and global scope in C.
- List and tuple in Python.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- Why do you want to join HCL?
- Willing to relocate.
- Salary Expectations.
She said at the end that you are shortlisted for the next round and you will receive a link for assessment.
Round 2: Online Assessment
- The test was conducted on the Cocubes platform. The test consists of 4 sections Quantitative, Analytical, English, IT Fundamental.
- The duration of the test was 75 minutes and no negative marking was there.
- The next day I got mail for another assessment.
Round 3: Pseudo-code Round
There were 30 questions that you have to solve in 30 minutes. The questions were related to the following topics
- Decision control structure
- Loop control structure
- Recursion
- Pointers
- Logical operators
- Operations On Bits.
Tips:
- For the first online assessment, you should have some basic knowledge of IT fundamentals such as short-cut keys and operating systems.
- In the pseudo-code section, you have to be quick and accurate to clear the cutoff. Always solve time-taking questions such as loop at the last.
