A box contains Rs 350 in the form of coins of one rupees, 50 paise and 25 paise. The number of 25 paise coins is double the number of one rupee coins and four times the number of 50 paise coins. How many 25 paise coins are there in the box?
(A) 200
(B) 300
(C) 400
(D) 500

Answer: (C)
Explanation: Given ratio of coins,

25 paise        50 paise       100 paise
  4x       :       1x        :      2x

So,

4x *25  + 1x * 50 + 2x * 100 = 35000
100x + 50x + 200x = 35000
350x = 35000
x = 100 

So, number of 25 paise coins = 4x = 4*100 = 400.

Option (C) is true.
