Hello everyone! This article is related to my interview experience with Deloitte. I am from the MCA branch of NIT Raipur. Deloitte visited our campus on August 16, 2021, for campus placement for the role of Analyst for 2022 graduates.
Shortlisting Criteria:
- No active backlogs.
- Aggregate 60% or CGPA of 6.5 and above. (All branches allowed)
- This drive was not for the internship.
Round 1: Online Test
Date: August 23, 2021
The test was conducted on the AMCAT platform. Remember, this platform does not allow you to toggle the question. (You can not change the option if answered and submitted, also you are not allowed to go on the previous question again.
Sections: This test is divided into three parts
- Verbal: 25 Questions, 25 min
- Logical Reasoning: 25 questions, 35 min
- Quantitative Aptitude: 24 questions, 35 min
Tips:
- This is a pretty easy round but, make sure you have good speed with higher accuracy.
- After round 1, a total of 156 students was selected for the next round.
Round 2: Technical + HR
Date: August 30, 2021
Questions :
- What do you know about OOPs, explain in detail with real-life examples?
- You mostly code in Java (as I mentioned previously), But can you work on some other languages too?
- I have two tables, one has two columns(city name and population) and another one has multiple columns such as city, male population, female population. I have to find the population of the city where the male population is more than 50 lacks.
- Suppose, you were a team leader and faced any kind of failure while doing your project because of the fault of your team member. In this case, what will you do? (Will you take responsibility of the failure or blame your teammates for that??)(Answer this type of question very smartly)
- Do you have any questions for me?
Tips :
- Be honest with your resume. Write only those skills you are comfortable with.
- Be strict with the timeline given to you for the interview.
- Prepare a short and concise introduction of yourself.
- Be calm while answering questions. You can take a pause before start answering a question to structure your answer.
- Prepare a smart question for the interviewer.
- Go through the resume. Prepare each and every term written in it. Pay special heed to skills, projects, and internships sections. Try to make cross-questions from these sections and prepare them well.
- Prepare some HR questions like “Why do you want to join this company?”. There are lots of material available for HR questions.
- If you are from a none computer science background then there are fair chances that they will ask the following question “As you are not from a CSE background then why do you want to join IT company”. Believe me, this is the smartest question that can be asked from a candidate, and if you tackle it very well then, it will be a positive impression on the interviewer.
- Prepare OOPs concepts and try to relate them with real-life examples.
- Prepare database management system (DBMS)
- Also, prepare some basic programs like the number is palindrome or not, Armstrong number, find missing element in a sorted array, the sum of cube of n natural numbers, etc. Also, practice writing these programs in your preferred language. They may ask you to write a program on a notepad or any code editor while screen sharing is on.

- My Interview Experience: The interview started with an introduction. Then she started scanning my resume. She told me that my resume looks so perfect and my project looks interesting to her so asked me to explain my project. I was prepared for it and told her everything about it. She was satisfied with my explanation. It took 4 to 5 mins.
The interview lasts around 18 minutes. (time may vary from person to person). There was no JAM (Just A Minute) round, unlike last year. After round 2, a total of 50 students out of 156 were selected from our institute. There were 11 students from the MCA branch selected for this role including me.
