Accenture conducted the on-campus drive in the last week of August for the role of AEH (Advanced App Engineering Analyst). All branches were eligible to apply for the same. It started with the registrations & the pre-placement talk in which they briefed us about their organization, the technology Accenture works on, their exam pattern, and their hiring process.
The complete process consisted of 4 rounds with each round being an elimination round, excluding the communication round.
- Cognitive & Technical Assessment (MCQ round)
- Coding Assessment
- Communication Assessment
- Interviews
The entire process was conducted on Safe Exam Browser – HirePro. Notifications were sent via email and automated WhatsApp communication
Round 1: Cognitive & Technical Assessment : Candidates were sent the test links two days in advance and were asked to choose their preferred time slot.
Pattern of assessment:
- No of Questions: 90
- Duration: 90
- Topics: Quantitative Aptitude, English Ability, Reasoning, Pseudo Code, Network Security, Cloud Computing, MS office.
- Difficulty: Easy/medium
- Exam Type: MCQs
- Negative marking: None
- Type: Elimination
Within 5-10 minutes results were declared and the qualified candidates were redirected to the next round.
Round 2: Coding Assessment:
Pattern of Assessment:
- Duration: 45 mins
- Difficulty level: LeetCode Easy to Medium
- No. of questions: 2
- Languages Permitted – C, C++, Java, DOT NET, Python
Round 3: Communication Assessment:This was held just the next day and the assessment links were shared the day before. This is an AI-based communication round. It had 6 sections with the varying time required for each candidate to attend each question. The sections are,
- Reading Sentences: 8 Questions
- Listening: 16 Question
- Jumbled Sentences: 10 Questions
- Retelling Story: 3 Questions
- Speaking on a given topic: 2 Questions
- Duration: 30 minutes. You can choose to give the test anytime in a 24-hour window
Note: This is a non-elimination round but marks in this round would add up to the overall marks in the PI (Personal Interview)
It is a communication test that will assess you on the below parameters:
- Sentence Mastery
- Vocabulary
- Fluency
- Pronunciation
Round 4 (Technical + HR interview): 25 – 30 minutes. This was held two days after the communication assessment. Interviews were conducted online on their platform and candidates received communication to choose their suitable time slots.
- Initially, the interviewer introduced himself and asked me to do the same.
- Then he asked me to explain a situation where I learned something new or from scratch.
- After this, he asked me some questions about the projects I had worked on till then.
- Since I had developed Java-based applications, he asked me about the different libraries I used for deploying the features I mentioned and how was my project unique & different from similar open-source applications.
- He also asked me to explain the Version Control System, uses and applications of Git & Github and the tools I use for development.
Then he went on to ask some HR questions like,
- Tell me about a time that you worked in a team. Provide an example of a time you showed strong teamwork skills
- Have you ever experienced any conflicts with a team member while working on a project? (Hackathon/Development related examples preferred)
- What are your strengths and achievements?
- What did you do when you needed to motivate or promote collaboration on a project?
- What are your hobbies and interests?
Then he asked me if I had some questions for him. I asked him two questions,
- Can you tell me what you love the most about working here?
- If I were hired for the position, would I be going through any training prior to actually starting the work?
Then I asked him about his feedback and the areas on which I can work and improve. After about 5 days we received the selection results and official communication.
Some useful tips:
- Do your homework on the company
- Highlight your educational highlights, strengths and achievements if it feels right. Be specific. Be passionate!
- Always have good examples at hand. If possible, answer questions in the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
- End the interview strong. It’s highly recommended to ask your interviewer relevant, thoughtful questions. Good questions help demonstrate your level of interest in the company and the role & can set you apart from the rest of the candidates.
