Of course yes, and that’s the reason you are here to know what will be the resultant color on mixing of blue and green color. First, it should be clear in mind that there is a category of colors like primary colors then secondary colors then tertiary colors, and also there is a category of other types of colors that are called neutral colors.
Color Mixing: Blue And Green
If the blue color and green color is mixed together with different proportion then the color formed will be CYAN. CYAN is a bright color, this is a greenish blue color an aquatic type color. This means this color is similar to the sky color or ocean color. CYAN color gives relief to the eyes. The Color given in the picture is CYAN.
The above picture shows the cyan color which is formed by mixing blue and green colors in different proportions. In cyan color, the mixture of blue and green has more blue color as compared to green. But when we add more green color in the mixture of blue and green we get Turquoise. The Turquoise color is given in the picture.
So, in the art of painting when artists make a mixture of blue and green they mix them in different proportions to get the different shades of the color instead of mixing the colors in equal proportions.
Category of Colors:
- Primary colors include three colors in it and many other colors are formed using these primary colors, a wonder hits the mind after knowing that green color is formed using the combination of Blue and Yellow. Blue and Yellow are two of all three primary colors. All three primary colors are, 1) Red 2) Yellow 3) Blue
- Secondary colors include three colors in it. Secondary colors are formed are using primary colors, green color is formed by mixing blue and yellow colors and orange is formed using red and yellow. Secondary colors are used to form many new colors which are knowns as tertiary colors, Tertiary colors are not formed using the combinations within the colors secondary but using both primary and secondary colors. Secondary colors are, 1) Orange 2) Purple 3) Green
- Tertiary color includes six colors in it. Those six colors which are well known as tertiary colors are formed using both primary and secondary colors mixing. These six tertiary colors are, 1) Yellow-orange 2) Red-orange 3) Red-purple 4) Blue-purple 5) Blue-green 6) yellow-green. These colors are the least but not the last further tertiary colors are classified more. Many other colors have been sometimes heard us like vermilion, magenta, violet, amber, teal, and chartreuse these are nothing but just the names given by the artist so these names give an artistic feel these names are commonly used among artists while designing an art. Tertiary colors are formed using a mixture of primary and secondary in equal quantities in mixing different proportions they form they give different results usually the resultant varies a little bit.
There are 6 combinations that are made using 6 colors of both primary and secondary. for making tertiary colors color combinations:
- Yellow mixed with orange produces a yellow range.
- Red mixed with orange produces red-orange.
- Red mixed with purple produces red-purple.
- Blue mixed with purple produces blue-purple.
- Blue mixed with green produces blue-green.
- Yellow mixed with green produces yellow-green.
