I had worked at Vendatu for a few months and I came through the off-campus placement drive. It’s a good company to start your career with if you like talking to people. Being from a technical background my interest lay in nontech things and as the CTC offered was 7 lakhs considering I was coming from Tier-3 college I decided to pursue it as other MNCs like Infosys, Wipro or Cognizant offer 3.5 but mine was 4L ( Yeah, I know i wrote 7 L above but that’s a different story and you should check out my interview experience section on what happened next in this story). I went to Bangalore for the training for 1 month and it is amazing as you will have a lot to learn.
Being a fresher you will find it initially difficult to just talk to any person over a call and set up home demos but then with time, you will see it’s fun along with traveling daily!
Being a fresher you will get ample opportunities to learn the domain properly. After training things will change as in training you don;t travel but after completion of training, you start calling customers and traveling to their homes. You are given a script you have to say during the call and how to handle the objections sheet. I worked as BDE / Academic counselor.
My key responsibilities as a Business Development Executive are:
- Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to prospective customers
- Understand customer’s requirements and pitch products accordingly from the available product offerings of the company
- Reach out to customers through cold calling and schedule home demos for final sales
What my day looked like as BDE at Vedantu
We were required to make 80 calls daily and had to book at least 3-4 home demos if possible. You have to travel to the homes of customers depending on the time set up on mutual agreement.
Pros:
- Salary on time
- Motivational and understanding team leader/ manager
- Good work culture
Cons:
- Lack of transparency
- Work nature can be sometimes tedious leading to low personal growth.
- Extensive traveling
- Missing up on meals most of the time
