ServiceNow had visited our college for hiring students for Associate Software Engineer, there was a coding round followed by 3 rounds of interviews of which two are technical and one is a Hiring Manager round.
Coding Round(1 hour): The coding rounds consisted of 2 questions that needs to be solved in an hour.

Technical Discussion – 1(1 hour): We greeted each other. He asked me some advanced questions on Java and Javascript. Then I was asked to design an API that takes a string(of a number) and converts it into a number or throws an exception if it is an illegal format. I was able to code according to the given constraints. Then he gave me a Database design problem and followed up with how I would handle particular scenarios in real-time and the interviewer asked me to write queries for performing those operations.
Technical Discussion – 2(1 hour): The interviewer asked me 3 coding questions
- Basic coding question which I don’t remember
- Check for BST
- Balanced Parenthesis( https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/check-for-balanced-parentheses-in-an-expression/amp/ ) .
Then we discussed Java OOPS concepts, Data Structures (Trees and heaps) and then the interviewer asked me some aptitude questions and puzzles.
Hiring Manager Round ( 45 min): We discussed the work that I had done in my previous internship, followed up by questions on Generics, file handling, multithreading, and synchronization in java. Then we discussed projects which I had mentioned in my resume and he questioned me on why I had used particular tools and frameworks for the projects followed up by some general discussion.
