It was 2021 we are Covid batch students. Due to covid, our class 12th exam was canceled. I appeared for jee mains and got 97 percentile. I was not prepared for an advance that’s why didn’t get a good rank in the advanced exam. The counseling time came, I want only the computer science branch as I was in love with the software. I was clear about my branch. But in India being a general candidate you cannot get a CSE branch in nit and government-funded IIITs at this rank. I was getting CSE in nit Srinagar and some northeast nits but was not getting in a good nit. Many new IIITs were opened a few years back and I was getting CSE in them but the fees of that college were about 4 lakh a year. I was very confused and want to take a drop but my family didn’t allow me.
Then I came to know about JNU soe which was a school in JNU (nirf-2) university that opened in 2018. The fees of JNU were very low and because of its ranking, I started inclining toward it. I filled out the form and got admission here I was excited that I was going to my college. But the mail did not come from JNU. There was no information about anything. I was totally confused whether I got admission or not. After 1 month mail come and we have to do online verification. After that no information came from the college, however, I joined my college WhatsApp group. Faculty was not there in soe and whole soe was running in a very bad manner. After some time our classes begin to start. After some time whole India College opened for offline classes but we are not getting any information from our college. In the middle of 2 sem, our college opened for offline classes and then we go there.
When I go the first time to my college I was not excited as I thought of big engineering buildings but soe was running in a temporary building. However, the JNU campus is very beautiful as it has lots of trees, and also the campus is very big. Then due to the non-availability of proper resources our classes were still running in online mode and we are doing it by living in a hostel. From 3 sem onwards our classes begin to run completely in offline mode.
Now, some are better than in previous years. Teachers have been appointed and labs are being constructed.
