In this article we will see how we can step by definite number the value of the QDoubleSpinBox programmatically. Double spin box can take decimal value as input, we can set value with the help of setValue method, stepping by will add the definite number to the current value it can be positive as well as negative.
Note : If adaptive type is selected it will add the value in decimal part else in the real part.
In order to do this we will use stepBy method with the double spin box object.
Syntax : dd_spin.stepBy(n)
Argument : It takes integer as argument
Return : It returns None
Below is the implementation
# importing libraries from PyQt5.QtWidgets import *
from PyQt5 import QtCore, QtGui

class Window(QMainWindow):
def __init__( self ):
super ().__init__()
# setting title
self .setWindowTitle( "Python " )
# setting geometry
self .setGeometry( 100 , 100 , 500 , 400 )
# calling method

# showing all the widgets
self .show()
# method for components
def UiComponents( self ):
# creating double spin box
d_spin = QDoubleSpinBox( self )
# setting geometry to the double spin box
d_spin.setGeometry( 100 , 100 , 150 , 40 )

step_type = QAbstractSpinBox.AdaptiveDecimalStepType
# adaptive step type
d_spin.setStepType(step_type)
# creating a label
label = QLabel( "GeeksforGeeks" , self )
# setting geometry to the label
label.setGeometry( 100 , 200 , 300 , 80 )
# making label multi line
label.setWordWrap( True )
# push button
push = QPushButton( "Press" , self )
# setting geometry to the push button
push.setGeometry( 100 , 150 , 100 , 35 )
# adding action to the push button
# stepping by the value by 5
push.clicked.connect( lambda : d_spin.stepBy( 5 ))
