Microsoft Copilot app available on Google Play Store for free

In a surprising move, Microsoft has launched its Copilot standalone application on the Google Play store and iOS Store, breaking free from its previous confines within the Bing search engine, Edge browser, and Microsoft 365 services. Now available for free on Android, iPhone, and iPad, the Copilot app allows users to harness Microsoft’s advanced AI assistance independently of the Bing mobile app.

Microsoft Copilot has been quietly sent to Android users. With the help of the most recent OpenAI models, GPT-4 and DALL-E3, Copilot can take simple text descriptions and requests and turn them into visual content. Microsoft’s Bing Chat AI chatbot and other AI features have been rebranded and assembled as generative AI assistants. Despite the lack of an official announcement, all Android users may find Microsoft Copilot on Google’s Play Store and download it.

Microsoft Copilot app is now available on Playstore

Microsoft Copilot appears to be free to use according to its Play Store listing, which Neowin discovered. However, there may be in-app purchases available. The game’s Play Store page says it was last updated on December 19. In September of this year, Microsoft changed the name of their Bing Chat AI to Copilot. But this new app isn’t like Bing Chat; its sole purpose is to provide access to Microsoft’s AI conversation assistant. While this new app does not detract from Bing’s search engine or awards, you may see adverts from time to time.

Just over one month after Microsoft renamed Bing Chat to Copilot, the app for Android is now available for download. In an early move this year, Microsoft integrated a ChatGPT-like interface into search results within its Bing search engine as part of its artificial intelligence drive. It is still accessible, but Microsoft has separated Copilot from Bing Chat, making it more of an independent app with a domain (copilot.microsoft.com) similar to ChatGPT.
