Selecting a college or university after 10th and 12th is one of the most crucial decisions of everyone’s career. Also, a good college functions as a foundational pillar in every person’s growth. That’s why I selected Lovely Professional University (LPU), situated on National Highway 1, GT Road in Punjab. The University is one of its kind and exceptional in every aspect. Once you enter LPU, you will know that you are at the right place and its gonna transform you into an all-rounder professional.
Infrastructure
LPU is spread across 600+ acres with sky touching buildings, architected in an alluring manner. The campus includes more than 50 academic blocks, dedicated to every department. Also, it has a fully air conditioned auditorium, two to three playgrounds, multiple cafes, restaurants, a mall, and multiple hostels. In addition, you can find libraries at every block and you can even visit the central library with study rooms, and computer availability in the middle of night. Moreover, in case of emergencies, hospital is also available within the campus.
Furthermore, you can also get tired reaching your block, as it 600+ acre. My block was at the last corner of the campus, which takes me around 20 to 25 minutes reaching it from the main gate.
Academics
In addition to great infrastructure, LPU provides top-notch education to every student. It equally focusses on theoretical as well as practical knowledge. During my CSE diploma years, I have performed every practical in lab associated with the theory taught in class.
Furthermore, LPU provides all-rounder education, from the core subjects of the course to enhancing communication skills, problem-solving all other. I have also attended classes for all learning all such skills. And these skills are taught to every student, regardless of the course.
Faculties
All the faculties at LPU are very kind, educated and patient. If they tell that you can ask a question hundred times, you can literally ask it for hundred and one times without hesitation. My diploma was after 10th, but still PhD holding faculties were teaching the core and other subjects.
In addition, for every subject, different faculty is available, expertise in his/her domain. For instance, if some faculty is expert in C++, then he/she only teaches that particular subject.
Events and Societies
As per my experience, LPU is home to never-ending events and societies. Whether you are from engineering, fashion designing, architecture, graphic designing or any other course, dedicated events are for everyone. Also, One India and One World are the two most popular events of LPU. And you shouldn’t miss them.
Further, you can join “n” number of societies in LPU. Also, if you think of creating one, you can also do that. There’s a three to four leveled block, where all the societies reside. You can visit them and join them as per their criteria. If you are a programming nerd, you can find Google developer group or similar and join them.
Placements
From my experience, LPU do prepare every candidate for placement. It also provided dedicated placement classes, mock interviews and much more. In addition, numerous companies visit every year and conduct their placement drives. However, it depends on the candidate too to get hired by an organization.
Conclusion
In terms of infrastructure, faculties, and academics, LPU is a full-house. But, at some extent, it gets difficult to balance between attendance and the work of societies. Maybe it was difficult for me, but you can do it. Thus, you must consider joining LPU, as I have been to another colleges too, but didn’t find as good as LPU.
