jQWidgets is a JavaScript framework for making web-based applications for PC and mobile devices. It is a very powerful, optimized, platform-independent, and widely supported framework. The jqxDropDownList widget is a jQuery drop-down list that contains a list of selectable items displayed in the drop-down list.
The val() method is used to set or return the selected value. It accepts single parameter value of String type and it returns the String type value.
Syntax:
Set the val.
$("Selector").jqxDropDownList('val', 'New Value'); // or $("Selector").val('New Value');
Return the value.
var value = $("Selector").jqxDropDownList('val'); //or var value = $("Selector").val();
