When Can you Cancel Your Train Ticket?

What if the Chart is Prepared?
If the chart is already prepared, online cancellation won’t be possible. However, you can still file a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) to claim a partial refund only when your train gets late by more than 3 hours. Paytm offers an in-app TDR filing option for your convenience.

- You can cancel your train tickets online on Paytm up to the chart preparation time of the train.
- If the chart is prepared, and your train gets late by more than 3 hours, you’ll need to file a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) for cancellation.
- Online cancellations are generally unavailable during the IRCTC maintenance window between 11:45 PM and 12:20 AM daily.

Steps to Cancel Your Train Ticket on Paytm:
- Open the Paytm app on your smartphone.
- Tap on your profile icon located at the top of the screen.
- Select “Orders and Bookings“.
- Locate the booking you want to cancel from the list.
- Open the booking by tapping on it.
- Click on the “Cancel Ticket” option.
- Choose the passengers you wish to cancel the ticket.
- Review the cancellation charges displayed.
- Confirm the cancellation by clicking “Submit“.
Points to Remember
- Refund on cancellation is not allowed for certain bookings, you need to check the eligibility before booking your ticket.
- Booked tatkal tickets are generally non-refundable in case of cancellation.
