GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida Campus Experience as B.Tech CSE

I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Technology as a lateral entry student in Computer Science and Engineering at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The overall college experience has been truly remarkable, filled with a mix of highs and lows at various stages. My journey is adorned with memories involving friends, faculty, and the institute’s curriculum.

About the Campus:

Our institute’s campus is divided into two blocks, Academic Block 1 and Academic Block 2. AB 1 hosts first-year classes, along with Computer Science and Applied Science branches, including the Central Library. This block features cutting-edge laboratories, including the IOS lab by Apple and the Nvidia lab. The registrar’s office and accounts office are also situated in AB 1.

In AB 2, the remaining branches such as Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Civil, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics, as well as the MBA department, are housed. AB 2 is equipped with a state-of-the-art RFID-enabled library and the second-largest auditorium on campus, the SBG Hall.

My Second-Year Experience:

The second year introduced a blend of challenging and captivating courses. From advanced mathematics to intricate coding projects, each subject played a pivotal role in shaping my technical acumen. Notable highlights include my project, Hotel.com, covering subjects like Data Structures, Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Operating Systems, and Theory of Computations. These experiences not only broadened my understanding but also fueled my passion for software engineering.

In my fourth semester, I joined the college club of my department as a PR member, contributing significantly to my skill development. The supportive faculty tackled even the most challenging subjects in the easiest manner possible. Regularly conducted labs focused on practical knowledge, complementing theoretical classes. Weekly Q&A sessions and flip classes allowed personalized interaction, ensuring each student’s queries were addressed. Individualized mentorship further supported both academic and extracurricular pursuits.

My Third-Year Experience:

At the onset of the third year, sections were divided based on coding tests. This phase brought a more specialized and focused curriculum, emphasizing coding skills. Advanced courses in Machine Learning, DBMS, Compiler Design, etc., explored intricate concepts, pushing the boundaries of my knowledge.

In a strategic move, our institute introduced technical training sessions facilitated by external trainers, becoming a cornerstone of our preparation for the impending placement season. Covering a spectrum of technical topics and industry-specific skills, these sessions provided insights beyond the conventional classroom curriculum, enhancing our overall readiness for the professional world.

As I approach the final year, the third year of my B.tech journey stands out as a transformative phase marked by academic rigour, hands-on experiences, and personal growth. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that the final year will bring. Overall, my college experience has been nothing short of wonderful.
