Don’ts:
- Do not use a mobile phone, or notebook near you.
- Make sure that you remove all extensions from your laptop or computer.
- Make sure there should be no disturbance near your room. (pin drop silence)
- Background app notifications of the app should be off.
- Don’t use an external mic, speakers, keyboard or mouse.
- While speaking don’t read from the internet. you should speak with your ideas.
- Do not spend too much looking downside in writing. do not look at other sides only the screen for reading (without typing required sections)
- Don’t use earphones, or don’t cover your ears
- Don’t give memorized answers. in writing and speaking. You may get an invalid result.
- Don’t look away at the screen. during the exam, your eyes should be focused on the screen only.
Do’s:
- If you want certified results, then you need to follow the rules of the DET.
- Focus on production more. (means speaking with pronunciation and fluently without gaps.)
- Talk as much as you can. Don’t look at the timer it may distract you.
Test pattern:
- Fill in the blanks
- Real English word or not
- One sentence will be there (you have to read it out loud)
- Listen sentence then type in the box (make sure there are no spelling mistakes while typing) you can listen 3 times max.
- Image (you should write about it in one minute)
- Interactive reading and interactive listening (will come 2 times in real test, but in a practice test, you can only get 1 time)
- Writing task (5 minutes)
- Speak about the photo (90 seconds)
- Listen then speak (will come 2 times in real test, but in practice test, you can only get 1 time)
- Read then speak ( 1 time)
- Writing sample * speaking sample(both will sent to universities while applying Be careful)
New types will start from April 2, 2024
- Fill in the blank in a single line instead of a paragraph.
- Real word will be given only one (in 4 sec you have to tick mark the real word)
- For writing, there will be follow-up questions based on previous questions.
Note: If you are from India. Only a Passport is accepted for identification and is mandatory for this English test.
I have written the test. Above are my personal experiences. I got an overall score of 120 (all sub-scores are above 100). I have learned from Teacher Luke from YouTube. I suggest that if you are from beginner also.
