Collect.js search() Method

The search() method is used to search the given element in collection and returns its key if it exists. If the element is not found then it returns false.

Syntax:



collect(array).search(element)

Parameters: The collect() method takes one argument that is converted into the collection and then search() method is applied on it. The search() method holds the element that you want to search in collection.

Return Value: This method returns the key of the element if it exists, otherwise returns false.



Below example illustrate the search() method in collect.js:

Example 1:




const collect = require('collect.js');
  
const collection = collect(
    ['Geeks', 'GFG', 'GeeksforGeeks']);
  
const searched = collection.search('GFG');
  
console.log(searched);

const collection = collect(['Geeks'
    'GFG', 'GeeksforGeeks', 'Welcome']);
  
const searched = collection.search(
    element => element.length > 5);
