The unmappableCharacterAction() method is a built-in method of the java.nio.charset.CharsetEncoder returns this encoder’s current action for unmappable-character errors. The CodingErrorAction are of three types IGNORE, REPLACE and REPORT.
Syntax:
public CodingErrorAction unmappableCharacterAction()
Parameters: The function does not accepts any parameter.
Return Value: The function returns the current unmappable-character action, which is never null.
Below is the implementation of the above function:
Program 1:
// Java program to implement // the above function import java.nio.CharBuffer;
import java.nio.charset.Charset;
import java.nio.charset.CharsetEncoder;
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
{
// Gets the encoder
CharsetEncoder encoder = Charset.forName( "UTF16" ).newEncoder();
// Prints CodingErrorAction
System.out.println(encoder.unmappableCharacterAction());
}
} |
Output:
REPORT
Program 2:
// Java program to implement // the above function import java.nio.CharBuffer;
import java.nio.charset.Charset;
import java.nio.charset.CharsetEncoder;
public class Main {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
{
// Gets the encoder
CharsetEncoder encoder = Charset.forName( "US-ASCII" ).newEncoder();
// Prints CodingErrorAction
System.out.println(encoder.unmappableCharacterAction());
}
} |
Output:
REPORT
