Android Users Can Now Delete Last 15 Minutes of Search History

There is a piece of good news for Android users, they can delete their 15 minutes search history from Google. Yes, the biggest search engine has now enabled a new feature of deleting the past history of 15 minutes directly from the Google app with just one tap.

The feature was already available for iPhone users but now it will also be added for the Android ones. The announcement was first done at the Google I/O’s annual developer conference held in May, where the tech giants declared the addition of this new feature in the privacy suite of Google.

This feature was added in iOS after seven months of the announcement and according to some sources it is really useful. In a statement by Ned Adriance, spokesperson of Google the news was confirmed as he said,

“We’re continuing to explore ways to bring this helpful feature to other surfaces.”

Although, Google still provides an auto-delete option for its users which are three months, 18 months, and 36 months simultaneously and this can be used as per the user’s choice by visiting the ‘My Activity Page’. But now with the addition of this 15 minutes search clearance option the data will remain more safe and secure.

Google is the most used search engine application and runs on every smartphone these days. We use the search bar to get quick information about our answers. But now if you do not want to show your recent searches to anyone then you can just follow these easy steps:

  1. Click on the ‘G’ icon present on the Google search bar
  2. Once tapped on that, follow by clicking on your profile photo present on the top left
  3. A pop-up screen will appear and there you can see the option “Delete last 15 minutes”
  4. Click on that option and a dialog box will appear with the message “Deleting history. Changes will show in your account soon”

Hence, by doing these easy steps your search history for the last 15 minutes will be deleted. This new feature is available for most Android users, but still, there are people who are not getting it, so there is no technical fault, but it will soon be available for everyone. Besides this, if you want to check the same on your phone you can follow the above-mentioned steps.

However, the feature is only available for iOS and Android users but desktop users have been left out. Although, they still have the feature clearing the data 24 hours, last 7 days, last 4 weeks, and all time, they will have to wait for the new setup.

In addition to this, desktop users already have the feature to auto-delete activities which are older than 3 months, 18, or 36 months simultaneously. But in the upcoming time, this feature will be added to the Desktop as with Google I/O 2022 which will be held in May, the same will be announced in that.
